How to Dress (based on Mr Tim Gunn and then added by me me me!)

Oh hello bello!

Assalamualaikum

Still 2014 still sleepy still need to update several procurement document but still spare an hour or two to blog and browse hahaha. Anyways, I pinterest-ed (is that even a word?) minutes ago then I stumbled to this quotes from our fashion guy Mr Tim Gunn.

1. SILHOUETTE: “When getting dressed, think of your body as a series of thirds; the worst thing you can do is cut yourself in half. Pair a top that ends at your waist (one third) with long pants (two thirds), or wear a knee-length dress that goes no longer than the bottom of your kneecap.”

2. PROPORTION: “If you have something loose and blousy on top, whatever you wear below should be sleek and well fitted to serve as a counterpoint, and vice versa.”

3. FIT: “Most women wear clothes that are too big — that’s the comfort trap. Women don’t want to feel constrained, but I say, if you want to dress to feel as though you never got out of bed, then don’t.”

– Tim Gunn

If you still curious about this man, you can re-watch Project runway and you can easily spot his face as one of the judges. Tim Gunn is a fashion consultant in USA.

Well well let’s back to his quotes. Halo, Mr Tim Gunn I think I’m gonna add a little bit explanation for those rules. You know because I want to straighten any assumption people get when they read this (Oh ok, Does anyone read my blog?? Hihi)

SILLHOUTE

Divide our body into 3 parts? Hoooow? Well anyway, after quite a long time staring at the rule then stare at my body then stare back at the rule and stare at my body then I realize what it means. We should make our leg looks longer so we can be taller. How to do that?

Ok for me I usually use high waist skirt, t-shirt (slip it into the high waist skirt), outerwear (to cover my butt (sorry) so I don’t look tooo shapey). I will post the example later hehehe

PROPORTION

ok, if you want to have a loose top, just make sure that you don’t use everything loose from head to toe. You need to make it balance. Loose top can be paired with pencil skirt. Wide skirt can be paired with well fitted t-shirt and a vest. The power word here is PROPORTIONAL, so make it proportional enough.

FIT

You know the definition of FIT doesn’t mean you need to wear some apparel below your size so it look press body (I assume several women think that’s what FIT means). Wear the one which fits you, the one who makes you comfortable. I think FIT here means comfortable. Not tooo big not tooo small.

I think as a matter of fact, what Mr Tim Gunn tried to tell us is that please wear anything to make ur body looks proportional. Proportional! not skinnier or heavier. Proportional here doesn’t mean that you have to look like a size 0 or 2 models. You just need to look as human as possible and as comfortable as possible.

Whatever u wear, if you were already super thin or curvy you will still look like that. The only thing we can do is to make it proportional, comfortable, and well normal. Stylish is bonus. Hahahah

One thing for sure, I want us (women) to be subjects not objects. So please wear some modest apparels 🙂 With modest apparels, you can still look stylish, beautiful, and edgy.

That’s all from me about dressy dressy thingy.

Happy 31th December 2014. Hope 2015 can be a super super super better year for all of us though for me January 1st is just a usual day (try to deny that I need to face a new year which means new procurement things because we have new “APBN” meeehhh), hahahah but anyway Have a great and joyful daaaaay

Wassalamualaikum

Fresh Start

Fresh starts thanks to the calendar they happen every year –just set your watch to January, our reward for surviving the holiday season is a new year. Bringing on the great tradition of new years resolutions, put your past behind you and start over. It’s hard to resist the chance of a new beginning, a chance to put the problems of last year to bed.

Who gets to determine when the old ends and the new begins? It’s not on the calendar, it’s not a birthday, it’s not a new year, it’s an event –big or small, something that changes us, ideally it gives us hope, a new way of living and looking at the world, letting go of old habits, old memories.

What’s important is that we never stop believing we can have a new beginning, but it’s also important to remember amid all the crap are a few things really worth holding on to.

Welcoming 2015! Have a fresh start dearest! 🙂

Pipi Gembil Perut Gembul Moment : Tairyo Japanese Restaurant

Assalamualaikum 🙂

Kebetulan saya nyobanya yang tipe all you can eat. Alhamdulillah karena ada promo jadi saya dapetnya agak murah (anaknya modis banget : modal diskon). Kalau ga dapet promo kayaknya saya nggak akan icip icip Tairyo karena harganya lumayan juga yaitu start from Rp 169.000++ untuk all you can eat.

Untuk menu all you can eat dibagi jadi 3 tipe, yaitu tipe A, B, dan C. Tipe C itu yang paling mahal.

1. Salmon Sashimi

rasanya lembut seperti sashimi pada umumnya. Tapi entah kenapa in my very humble opinion, rasanya lebih segar salmon sashiminya Sushi Tei.

2. Salmon Aburi Sushi

Again, mungkin lidah saya udah lidah sushi tei banget.

IMG_20141221_193305

3. Karaage (udah otomatis dikasih jadi appetizer)

Enaaaaaaaaaak dan gurih. Bagi anak anak indonesia masa kini yang suka bekal Chicken Karaage dari So Good dll, ini lebih enakan dan hangatnya pas.

4.  Shrimp Tempura (udah otomatis dikasih jadi appetizer)

Tapi so far so goooood lah.. Crispy Enough

8. Sushi Maki feat Avocado, Salmon, and Crabstick

Enak tapi tetep aja kalo Sushi saya lebih suka Sushi Tei.

9. Teppanyaki Gindara Fish

Gindara Fish emang gak pernah gak enak.

10. Chicken Teppanyaki feat Onion

Ini juga enak. Bumbunya gurih dan spicy. Bawang bombaynya manis dan segar. I will def try it again :9

Worth the price lah yaaa 🙂

December Books Craving

Lately I’ve been crawling around Goodreads and any book review blogger to find several books to be read. I think several people know that I’m such a qoutes, conversation, novels, and poem addict. I love seeing the way one word relate to other words. I love reading all the poetic things those words produce.

So after those hours scrolling I think I’m gonna buy these books :

1. Love and Misadventure – Lang Leav

love and misadventure lang leav

I’m searching for a poetic book about life or love or anything. I like every wordplay in a poem book. Then I stumbled to Lang Leav’s book. Dunno whether I’m gonna like it or not but seeing how people often capture the poem then put it in Pinterest, I think I’m gonna like this book….. so much (well too optimistic)

Goodreads synopsis : Lang Leav is a poet and internationally exhibiting artist. Awarded a coveted Churchill Fellowship, her work expresses the intricacies of love and loss.

Beautifully illustrated and thoughtfully conceived, Love and Misadventure will take you on a rollercoaster ride through an ill-fated love affair- from the initial butterflies to the soaring heights- through to the devastating plunge. Lang Leav has an unnerving ability to see inside the hearts and minds of her readers. Her talent for translating complex emotions with astonishing simplicity has won her a cult following of devoted fans from all over the world.

Excerpt :

“What was it like to love him? Asked Gratitude.

It was like being exhumed, I answered, and brought to life in a flash of brilliance.

What was it like to be loved in return? Asked Joy.

It was like being seen after a perpetual darkness, I replied. To be heard after a lifetime of silence.

What was it like to lose him? Asked Sorrow. There was a long pause before I responded:

It was like hearing every goodbye ever said to me—said all at once.”

2. Twivortiare 2 – Ika Natassa

23571746

I like Ika natassa’s book though I kinda bored with the banker kinda things she always writes about but that’s ok. So this is like the 3rd novel about Mrs Beno and Mr. Beno who I’ve been longing for so long. I’m so curious about what will Lexy do in her pregnancy moments and of course what will Mr. too handsome too be true do when he has to prepare himself to be a great father. So when Twivortiare is launched, I’m ready to buy it (and read it)

Goodreads synopsis :

Excerpt : “You know you’re in love with the right person when falling in love with him turns you into the best version of yourself.”

3. Supernova : Ksatria, Putri, dan Bintang Jatuh — Deelestari

994156

I know that this book has been published long time ago. I always hold myself from reading this book just because I’m afraid I will not understand this book with all the drama, science, roman, poem, love, high level words, and etc. Now, because I’m 25 years old and I think my teeny tiny brain can handle a little wordplay, I can handle this book. I also want to watch the Movie on December 2014 so I surely think I need to read the book first. YAY!

The have, sedangkan Ruben, mahasiswa beasiswa.

Excerpt :

“Ajarkan aku menjadi naif

senaif dirimu yang masih bisa tertawa

senaif kebahagiaan di alam kita berdua

karena di setiap detik..

dikala kenyataan mulai bersinggungan..

kurasakan sakit yang nyaris tak tertahankan

Atau..

Ajarkan aku menjadi penipu!

bila kau merasakan sakit itu didalam tawamu.”

4. Eleanor and Park – Rainbow Rowell

eleanor and park

I’ve been curious about this book since several months ago because I read in some blog that this book is beautifully written. You know somehow book about teen love can be a little bit “bring-it-on” like so I rarely buy those books eventually. I scrolled Goodreads to know people’s review about this book then I’m pretty sure I will buy it then read it then cry (because people said that it’s sweet, it’s cute, it’s fresh, and it’s sad). I hope it’s going to be heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time.

Goodreads synopsis :

 Two misfits.
One extraordinary love.

Eleanor… Red hair, wrong clothes. Standing behind him until he turns his head. Lying beside him until he wakes up. Making everyone else seem drabber and flatter and never good enough…Eleanor.

Park… He knows she’ll love a song before he plays it for her. He laughs at her jokes before she ever gets to the punch line. There’s a place on his chest, just below his throat, that makes her want to keep promises…Park.

Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try

Excerpt : “I don’t like you, Park. Sometimes I think I live for you”

5. Landline – Rainbow Rowell

landline

Landline is Goodreads choice 2014 Winner so I have a big hope for this one. When I saw the author I know that Goodreads people made the right choice. Rainbow words always play the word beautifully and sadly at the same time. So I think it’s gonna be worth the money I spent. :p

Goodreads synopsis : Georgie McCool knows her marriage is in trouble;it has been in trouble for a long time. She still loves her husband, Neal, and Neal still loves her, deeply — but that almost seems beside the point now.

Maybe that was always beside the point.

Two days before they’re supposed to visit Neal’s family in Omaha for Christmas, Georgie tells Neal that she can’t go. She’s a TV writer, and something’s come up on her show; she has to stay in Los Angeles. She knows that Neal will be upset with her — Neal is always a little upset with Georgie — but she doesn’t expect him to pack up the kids and go home without her.

When her husband and the kids leave for the airport, Georgie wonders if she’s finally done it. If she’s ruined everything.

That night, Georgie discovers a way to communicate with Neal in the past. It’s not time travel, not exactly, but she feels like she’s been given an opportunity to fix her marriage before it starts . . .

Is that what she’s supposed to do?

Or would Georgie and Neal be better off if their marriage never happened?

Excerpt : “Nobody’s lives just fit together. Fitting together is something you work at. It’s something you make happen – because you love each other.”

Well.. let’s goooo to the bookstore Mieke!

Prologue from Chapter After

There is no need for me to ask why… because a person like that will make a million reason which can’t be trusted and a million promise which can’t be kept.

-prologue from “Chapter After”

Chapter After is a project which I’m making (in the process actually) don’t know whether I will have guts to publish it  because I have such a little confidence in writing.

This is a project consists of a group of short stories about some phase every people in this world has been through 🙂 you guess…..

Derap Ketujuh

Berikut Derap Ketujuh.

Derap Ketujuh : Sebarkan Makna

Setelah akhir kita serahkan,
dengan nafas yang berkesadaran,
dengan hati yang bersyukur,
dengan nalar yang cerdas,
dengan gerak yang melahirkan karya,
maka derap terus kita lakukan sambil kerap bercahaya,

Gunakan anugerah waktu sebaik-baiknya,
karena tak ada yang mampu menghentikannya,
karena tak ada yang mampu membelinya.
karena tak ada yang mampu mengembalikannya.

Gunakan anugerah waktu,
bukan untuk hanya bergegas memaknai diri,
namun juga berbagi makna bagi yang lain.

Gunakan anuegerah waktu,
bukan untuk hanya sibuk berpendar bagi diri,
namun juga untuk berpendar bagi yang lain.

Gunakan anugerah waktu,

Bagaikan pelangi,
Dengan warnanya sendiri-sendiri.
Dengan kilaunya sendiri-sendiri.
Namun hanya akan indah ketika saling mendampingi,
untuk saling menerangi.

Bercahayalah tanpa menghitung warna yang disebarkan.
Bercahayalah tanpa menakar kilauan yang dipancarkan.

Bukankah mentari senantiasa berbagi rasa hangat,
tanpa pernah meminta kembali?

Bukankah air senantiasa berbagi kehidupan,
tanpa pernah menanyakannya lagi?

Bukankah dedaunan senantiasa berbagi kesegaran,
tanpa pernah menghitung hari?

Sebarkan makna melalui cahaya yang dititipkan,
karena itulah hakikat kehadiran kita,
karena itulah bukti pengabdian kita,
berguna bagi yang lain,
berbagi rahmat untuk seluruh alam.

Terima kasih atas blog postnya mas ivan. I am surely looking forward to discuss about passion, life, and career with you again. Pastinya saya akan mendapatkan banyak surprising comment yang tentunya bikini ketawa tapi bikin mikir. Mikir untuk terus maju tentunya.
